“HMI Skate Park Society” is a Not For Profit Society working to provide safe, fun, and positive spaces for Children, Youth, and Adults to share together and build a better future for everyone.
Our original HMI Skate Park is an indoor skateboard park located in Hope, British Columbia, a quiet town of 5,000 people located in the Fraser Valley. The Skate Park was built completely off donated materials, time, and labour inside of the old Rona Building on the corner of Fort Street and 5th Avenue, just a block off the main strip and walking distance to 3 of Hope’s 4 schools. It opened in December of 2020 and has recorded numbers of over 700 different members using its facility each year in all 3 years its been open.
We released a video documentary named “Future of Hope” in April 2022 showcasing how the skate park was built and why.

This place has been a saviour to this small town not only for people to skateboard and learn at but just in general for people of all ages to come hang out indoors, get out of the elements, meet new friends, and enjoy time with one another. Along with regular All Ages Drop-Ins, Ladies Nights, and 30 and Over Nights, HMI Skate Park provides Lesson Programs for kids 5yrs old up to 18, as well as Inclusive All Ages Competitions, Demos and other Special Events each month which draw participants and spectators from all across the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley all the way to Vancouver Island and up to the Okanagan on a regular basis.
It is one of our biggest goals to introduce the world of skateboarding to people of all ages and provide an amazing spot for them all to come together and enjoy their time learning and having fun, but we need your support to help afford the costs of operation.
HMI Skate Park Society’s purpose is to create and support safe spaces for children, youth and adults of all ages to come together and build a better community. These spaces, and the programs that operate within them, will help to grow the future generation in a positive manner and will assist in raising and developing the next Professional Canadian Skateboarders to represent our country in National, International, and Olympic competition. It is our mission to keep the original HMI Skate Park open for years to come, and to also build more places just like it in other parts of British Columbia and Canada.
